Sami Laroui

Visiting Masters Student

Sami Laroui is a research intern at the CERA lab and graduated as an engineer from L’École Polytechnique (l’X), where he specialized in data science and energy systems. His research experience and interests span machine learning, climate risk analytics, and interdisciplinary modeling. He previously worked with the French Armed Forces’ defense cooperation directorate in Nouakchott, Mauritania, an experience that sparked his interest in urban resilience to increasing climate risks and societal challenges. He later worked at Generali, one of Europe’s largest insurance companies, where he developed machine learning models to predict drought events.
