Benjamin Tarver

Phd Student

Benjamin Tarver is an incoming PhD student in the CERA Lab studying mechanical engineering with an urban science concentration. He is interested in developing computational tools that can inform public infrastructure planning processes by optimizing resource allocations for disaster resilience and emissions mitigation under deep uncertainty. He has previously conducted research at EPFL, focused on linking pedestrian activity with urban form features, assessing the solar water heating potential of university buildings, and characterizing particle motion in oscillatory fluid flows. He received a BS in Mechanical Engineering from the University of California, San Diego.
